MSU ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIETY JOINS THE WORLD IN CELEBRATING WORLD WETLANDS DAY.
World Wetlands Day is celebrated today on the February 02, 2016. It marks the date of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands, called Ramsar Convention, on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea. World Wetland Day was celebrated for the first time in 1997 and made an encouraging beginning. Each year, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, universities and groups of citizens at all levels of the community have taken advantage of the opportunity to undertake actions aimed at raising public awareness of wetland values and benefits in general. The MSUES comes together today to celebrate the event through raising awareness on the need to value wetlands throughout the country. Take action today geared towards protection of wetlands in your area. Join the MSUES society this year and take part in environmental conservation and awareness activities. The societies’ mission is to educate, empower and engage students in environmental sustainability both on and off campus by providing innovative solutions through Research, Action, and Awareness. We are ‘students geared towards a global green economy’
